Interaction Design for Web-based Applications
When Euro RSCG Life decided to build a Web-based application to service the Pharmaceutical Industry, the goal of the product was to provide Pharmaceutical companies with an easy means to stay within ABPI, EFPIA, and IFPMA compliance. The application required an interface that would service multiple user types and provide integrated scheduling, booking, financial, and tracking capabilities. Of the application’s many features, the most challenging interaction included functionality to:
- plan and successfully book speakers, attendees, vendors, and venues.
- provide a calendar-based oversight of events.
- provide access to documents, clinical data, and biographical profiles..
- provide and manage contracts.
- track expenses and expense types so the company can stay with compliance.
- display and prioritize alerts to users about upcoming events and tasks.
- manage feature level access across user types
The features of this application were completely interdependent. What happened in one feature impact all of the others. User workflows were tightly interwoven, often requiring a swim-lane model for user task flow analysis.
